Who Is Eligible To Vote?
According to the bylaws (https://bookstack.artisansasylum.com/books/governance/page/by-laws), you're eligible to vote:
3.2 Voting Members. Voting Membership in the Corporation is determined on a month-to-month basis, and shall include any member who has timely paid the monthly membership fee for the current month in addition to the previous five (5) consecutive months (“Voting Membership Threshold Requirement”). If a Voting Member loses his or her voting rights by failing to meet the Voting Membership Threshold Requirement but has not been terminated per Section 3.4 below, they may regain those rights once they again meet said Requirement.
- Institutional memberships receive only one vote. Who casts that vote is up to the Institution to decide, and should be reported to the Election Commissioner, by the person who pays that Institution's bills.
What Are We Voting On?
- The membership will elect 1 person to serve as Member Liaison.
- The membership will elect 1 person to serve as Director (Board Member).

Normal Procedure
We will be using paper ballots available at the front desk:
- Give your name to the volunteer at the front desk during our normal staffed hours (noon to 10pm Monday through Thursday, and 10am to 6pm Friday through Sunday).
- They will check off your name from the list and hand you a ballot.
- Complete the ballot while standing at the front desk and turn it in.
You will not be allowed to take ballots away from the desk. We will have sample ballots available with links to the relevant wiki pages, so you can see what the ballot will look like and find out more info about the candidates.
No write-in candidates will be accepted.
Our bylaws (https://bookstack.artisansasylum.com/books/governance/page/by-laws) state you must have been paid up, and have been timely. If your name is not on the list of eligible voters, contact the Election Commissioner so that this can be resolved. To reiterate:
3.2 Voting Members. Voting Membership in the Corporation is determined on a month-to-month basis, and shall include any member who has timely paid the monthly membership fee for the current month in addition to the previous five (5) consecutive months (“Voting Membership Threshold Requirement”). If a Voting Member loses his or her voting rights by failing to meet the Voting Membership Threshold Requirement but has not been terminated per Section 3.4 below, they may regain those rights once they again meet said Requirement.
Can't Get To The Asylum During The Voting Period?
If, for whatever reason, you will not be able to cast a ballot in person during the in-person voting period, contact the Election Commissioner, election-commissioner@artisansasylum.com on or before Monday, December 14, 2020 6 PM who will help you make alternate arrangements. Typically, this means emailing your vote and a contact number, which will be verified by phone.
Mail in Voting
Because of the Covid situation, mail voting will also be available. All eligible voters who have not voted in person or via email will be mailed a ballot, which must be returned (via mail or dropped off) to Artisan's by Tuesday, December 15, 2020 6 PM.
